Learning a little Vietnamese…
Aidan’s at that fun (yet dangerous if you have a potty mouth) age where he copies everything we say. Here is a cute video of Bao teaching him colors in Vietnamese. The amazing thing is, he actually remembers it. We always say, “That big head definitely has something in it!”

Reunion
We were able to get the webcam going this morning and the kids got to see their daddy and vice versa over in Japan. They haven’t seen each other since Sunday morning.

Modern letters
The internet has completely changed the way we communicate. We’ve all known that for a long time now. Instead of letters, I made Mike a few short videos and uploaded them to YouTube for him. Aidan just started putting two words together “Hi Daddy”, “Bye baby”. Brooke is always a little behind but a lot more verbal now:

You can do anything…if the technique is right.
Brooke and Aidan have been sliding down the slide by themselves for some time now but something changed in Brooke and she just stopped doing it. I could tell there was hestitation, but I didn’t want to play into it. It’s just a slide. Just recently, we noticed that she changed her technique…hahaha…she now slides down on her belly! I guess it’s less scary when you don’t have to look down.
What every it takes! In this case, it’s not so much the journey…it’s the destination. She’s down right? =)
Aidan ‘reading’
Last night, Mike told me that Aidan can read. I said, “Yeah, right.” Then he continues in a panic-stricken “you gotta believe me” voice: “He did! He read the letters S, O and Y off this Sony box. I said okay and didn’t think anything of it.
This morning I hear screaming from the other room, “Honey, honey, honey, he’s reading!” I grab my iPhone and caught a little video. He did better than this but by the time we tape anything, they’re already over it. Hahaha. I’m still amazed. He’s 18-months and learned it all from Sesame Street. Thank you, PBS!

Brooke in Heels
Here she is in Mah-mah’s heels. Doing a good job too. Definitely didn’t get that from Mommy. I’m a wimp in heels!

Sliding
It’s funny how we take the basic things in life for granted…like picking things up with your index finger and thumb. Putting yourself up to stand. Poking food with a fork. These basic things we do everyday and nobody starts cheering or throws me a mini-party every time I do it…yet Mike and I throw a mini-party every day about something.
This week it was sliding down the slide…unassisted. Having enough strength in their core to sit upright down the slide.

Summer Days in March
This post seems so silly because the weather in California is so crazy right now. It is currently raining outside but yesterday was so hot, Tina and I decided to take the kids to the Irvine Spectrum to play in the fountain in front of Carter’s.
Aidan was so curious but a little scared so he would hold on to Tina and drag her into the fountain with him. Brooke had no interest in getting her pretty dress from Grandma wet. I have a short little video I took with my iPhone.
