But this post isn’t about Glee. It’s about the word ‘ass’. My sister who will remain nameless (not Van) called me a kiss ass based off my touchy, feely posts about parenting. I’ll have you know that my parents do not read my blog so I’m not kissing ass. I’m just reflecting. Back to the case in point. I hate being called a kiss ass. And it’s not the meaning of kiss ass that bugs me as much as the word ‘ass’ is in it. So I told the nameless sister,

“Don’t call me anything with ass in it.”

Being that she is a smartASS, she asked, “How about badass?” I said, “No, it still has ass it it. What part of ‘don’t call me anything with ass in it didn’t you understand’?”

Why would I want to be a badass? By definition, two wrongs do not make a right:

Definition of Bad:
Bad – having undesirable or negative qualities

Definition of Ass (my favorite from Google query: “define ass”):
Ass – buttocks: the fleshy part of the human body that you sit on

i wonder if heaven’s got a doggy ghetto…

when we brought you home, you smelled like shit. you continued smelling that way for 10 years. you peed on my leg. you waited until everyone was around you so you could lay the worst farts. you dutch ovened our tent when we went camping. you eat crickets. you massacred a full family of opposums. you have more baby pictures than i do. you pooped in anh hai mike’s car for revenge. you wouldnt do tricks unless i threatened to tell dad on you. you fake injuries. you chewed up an entire couch. you’ve always wanted to kill my bunny…

yet i miss your barbarian ass! to ten years of love, laughter and unbearable odor! props to my dog mickey.

Yesterday I went to meet the Le family at the park. We were playing at the park until about 7:20pm, my kids started to melt down so we decided to go home. I was just talking to Nathan (he’s 18 months now?) and asked him, “Do you want to help Di Thi push your cousins?” Well, he did. He helped me all the way to my car. LOL. I had to walk so slow because I didn’t want to run over his little feet. At one point, Hong saw Aidan crying and asked Nathan to let go and I just said, “Oh no, I asked for it so I have to walk slow and let him see it through until he doesn’t want to do it anymore.” And he did see it through and was so proud. What a big boy (already…).

It’s amazing. I got to see this kid grow from birth until now and I’m so amazed by him, by nature and by the nurture he gets from his parents.

It took about 5 minutes to get to the car. Good thing it’s a small park. LOL.

If you already received a call from our mother than this is old news now…LOL.

Van Ngo and Eric Oberly won the US Magazine Dream Wedding contest! Woohoo! It’s so exciting to be related to someone who wins one of these! I’ve been having a great time playing the video over and over again so I can tell my sister what a nerd she is!

Hahaha. Seriously, I’m so happy for you, Van. Now tell Mom to get off the phone and go back to work!

On Saturday, Tina, Bao and I drove to San Bernadino to attend Jimmy’s graduation. We grabbed a few McCafe (only to throw them away when we got there since they did not allow beverages in the coliseum…a small price to pay for an air-conditioned arena.)

Mike and the kids eventually caught up with us at the Stefanovics for a kick@$$ party thrown by one of the cutest and coolest wives around (how did Jim get so lucky??).
