King of the Jungle cupcakes

My good friend, Anne Eurose, threw her cousin, Deejay, who is also a good family friend of mine a baby shower for the soon-to-be arrival of their baby boy! I was thrilled when she asked me to make cupcakes for Deejay’s shower. The theme was really cute and easy to do…if anything, it was difficult for me to narrow down all the ideas!

It’s a Boy! Cupcakes

Dee asked me to turnaround a dozen cupcakes for her coworker the last minute and I was up for the challenge. Here they are. I tried a new buttercream recipe that was half the butter I used and I love it. So silky and not too buttery.

Dee’s Wedding

I had the honor to do my first wedding for just the coolest person I know. She gave me a few designs she liked and told me, “Do what you want. I trust you.” I don’t know any bride like that…btw. It took a lot of pressure off a still very high pressure project — just because I wanted it to be perfect for her. She was happy which makes me more than happy with the results:

Chocolate cake w/ Vanilla swiss meringue buttercream, fondant embossed hearts rimmed with gold coarse sugar. My favorite is the wrappers! The cake on top is my first: chocolate cake covered with vanilla fondant and decorated with a satin ribbon and rhinestone heart buckle.

Baby Girl Cupcakes

More cupcakes for Grace! Because she had GD (just like I did) she wasn’t able to eat the cupcakes I made for her baby shower. I promised her that I will be bringing her another dozen after she delivers, and I try my best to always keep a promise. So here they are. These are chocolate with a chocolate ganache topped with chocolate Swiss meringue buttercream. Pretty darn delicious if you asked me.

Bachelorette Cupcakes

I made chocolate cupcakes (using Martha Stewart’s one-bowl chocolate cupcake recipe with her chocolate frosting recipe) for Jenny’s bachelorette party. I decorated it to match the invitations.

Joy’s 40th Birthday

My friend, Randy threw his wife a surprise party for her 40th birthday. I was more than happy to make her birthday cupcakes. Since Joy is from Hawaii, I decided to do a Hawaiian theme for color and playfulness. I made 4 dozen. Half were yellow cake with vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream. The other half was chocolate cupcakes with chocolate Swiss meringue buttercream. So silky and delicious!
