The kids had their holiday party before the 2 week long winter break today. Mike went to Aidan’s and I went to Brooke’s (since I went to Aidan’s birthday party at school…always trying to keep it fair!)
For Brooke’s class, I brought in Christmas tree sandwiches. Aidan’s class, we bought the plates, forks, napkins and thousand island dressing.
I got to sit and eat with Brooke then Mrs. Moreno did circle time. I got to watch her to her role call, sing the sings she tends to sing at home and dance and jump. It was so cute to see her following directions and participating. “We’ve gone a long way since we first set foot at this school, kiddo!”

Sick as a dog, I still couldn’t miss Meredith’s 30th birthday at the Beverly Hills Hotel. So glad I dragged myself out of bed for this. It was so nice to see all the ‘homies. We always seem to have a great time together! Also so happy and excited for Meredith not only turning 30 and being absolutely fabulous, but on her engagement! Congrats, Meredith! Nobody deserves it more than you do! Can’t wait for Napa 2012!

Just wanted to take this opportunity to say how thankful we are to have the friends and family that we do. We all survived two years together now and still going strong! Thank you to those who came out on Saturday and made AB’s birthday so special.

We threw the kids’ birthday party at Orchard Park this year. We did a bunch of the decorations and baked up a storm! Here are just a few of the party details.

For the twins’ second birthday, we decided to do a Mickey & Minnie themed because they’re obsessed with Mickey Mouse’s Clubhouse.
These are red velvet with mini chocolate chips and vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream:
I cannot believe they are [insert age here]. I think I will be saying this for the rest of their lives. Two years came and went all too fast. It’s so bittersweet. I love that my kids are growing, healthy, happy but I can’t believe I don’t have “babies” anymore.
This year’s birthday was a few days of events! They had a little party at school. Bao and I brought in some blueberry bagels with cream cheese & strawberry fruit preserves…closest thing to cake and frosting allowed at LePort Montessori.
I took the day off and picked them up around 3pm. Bao, Tina and I took them to Pretend City for the last hour they’re opened then went to the Spectrum for dinner and a carousel ride. We went home to have cake with Nana, Ngoai, Daddy, Gu Jie & Di Tu. Bao has been put thing on “candle blowing training” since Tuesday. The best part? She used the “birthday squash” which is exactly what it sounds like…a butternut squash used for candle blowing practicing. So…now Aidan would see the squash, point and say “it’s a birthday”, pick it up and blow at it…good job, Tu Tu. Hahaha.
These kids are so blessed. We had a really great day!

1. “Mommy, wait…WAIT!” when I walk off.
2. “Froggie” except it sounds like something else…
3. “Fork” also sounds like something else…
4. “I don’t like it.” exactly as it sounds…usually comes up when we want to change diapers.
5. “I read book.”
6. “I pee pee.” this is new. Aidan means it. Brooke usually will accompany this with pulling down her pants…wherever she is.
