Mike and I met up with the gang and finally (after attempting to go for years) caught Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach.

Sarcophagus of the Muses: one of their pieces last night
For those of you who do not know what Pageant of the Masters is, it is a local volunteer-based production in Laguna Beach where real people are used to recreate life-size versions of art. It’s amazing. We got good seats but not close enough to see how amazing this really was. Combined with good costumes, dedicated performers and excellent lighting, the final result looked like a painting — it actually looked flat!
Here are a few tips I learned from going:
1. Park in the streets. If you’re far, take the free shuttle.
2. Go early to enjoy exhibits.
3. Pack a picnic! I wish I did this. There were people who brought bottles of wines and snacks.
4. If you have cheap seats, bring your own binoculars.
5. Pack a jacket or blanket. It will eventually get chilly.
